Originating from technical forms of dance such as ballet and jazz, contemporary is ever-changing, always pushing the boundaries.
Contemporary is known for its use of floor work, contract & release, and unpredictable changes in rhythm and direction.
This style demonstrates the strength, athleticism, and emotion of being a dancer.
In 2018 we will be introducing the new DanceNZmade contemporary syllabus.
Dancers begin to learn how to use the floor, gravity and their body weight to dance.
This level introduces skills like rolls, leg swings and travelling in & out of the floor
For ages 9+ years. Some previous dance experience is recommended.
60 minute class, once per week.
