What to Expect in Our Classes

Understanding the importance of a well-rounded experience right from a young age, our students are exposed to a full range of class content from production dances, creative expression and Royal Academy of Dance syllabus.

Preprimary and Primary classes cover the development of fundamental ballet techniques that form the building blocks for future learning; exercises that enhance students' understanding and appreciation of music and rhythm; practices aimed at improving coordination, balance, and motor skills; and activities designed to spark imagination and artistic expression.

Uniform & Hair Requirements

Our preprimary and primary ballet students are required to wear:

- Pink cap-sleeved leotard
- Pink skirt with bow
- Pink crossover (for colder days)
- Ballet socks
- Ballet shoes with elastics

Hair should be tied up securely, with headbands or clips to keep any loose strands off the face. A ballet bun is preferred where possible.

Structure of the Dance Year

Our dance year is structured to provide a comprehensive experience for our students, with key events and milestones:

- Annual Production: Held in Term 2 (June), this is a highlight of the year where students can showcase their skills and creativity on a professional stage.
- Exams: Conducted in Term 4 (December), these exams mark the progress and achievements of our students in ballet, serving as an exciting milestone in their dance journey.

Time Investment and Parental Support

To help our youngest dancers feel confident and prepared for performances and examinations, we strongly encourage parental support in practicing at home. We provide video resources to facilitate home practice, allowing parents to help their children review and perfect their ballet techniques.
