Junior Contemporary
Experience the Artistry of Contemporary Dance
Contemporary dance is a dynamic and expressive style that blends technique, creativity, and athletic movement. Drawing from ballet, jazz, and modern influences, contemporary encourages dancers to explore how they move, feel, and connect to music and ideas. Our Junior Contemporary class introduces dancers to this exciting style in a supportive and structured environment, helping them build strong foundations while developing confidence, creativity, and individuality.

Who Is This Class For?
This class is designed for dancers aged approximately 8–12 years.
Some prior dance experience is recommended, but not essential

What to Expect
Our Junior Contemporary classes follow the Rambert Grades Contemporary Dance syllabus, a structured and internationally recognised contemporary programme. This focuses on developing both technical skill and creative expression. Dancers learn how to move fluidly through space, transition confidently in and out of the floor, and use their bodies to communicate ideas and emotions.

Rambert Grades are built around three key strands:
* Technical Strand
Developing safe, efficient contemporary technique, including floorwork, travelling sequences, and controlled jumps.
* Performance Strand
Learning professional choreography created by leading choreographers, encouraging personal interpretation and expressive performance.
* Creative Strand
Exploring movement ideas through improvisation and group choreography, helping dancers develop confidence, imagination, and problem-solving skills.
