Discover the Thrill of Aerial Dance

Have you ever dreamed of taking flight and moving gracefully through the air? Imagine the excitement of combining dance and acrobatics, performing stunning tricks while suspended above the ground. Welcome to The Rose Academy’s Aerial Arts program, where students explore the captivating world of aerial performance in a safe, structured, and inspiring environment.

What to Expect in Our Aerial Arts Classes

Our Aerial Arts program begins with Aerial Hoop (Lyra), a beautiful apparatus that allows students to experience the joy of performing in mid-air. Grounded in the internationally recognised Aerial Arts syllabus, our classes follow a safe, skill-based progression designed to build strength, confidence, and aerial technique while fostering creativity and artistry.

Comprehensive and safe Training

Across all aerial classes, students develop:

  • Strength, flexibility, and body awareness

  • Balance, spinning, rolling, and inversion control

  • Confidence and control in aerial positions

  • Foundational techniques to support progression to more complex moves and routines

For the best results, we recommend complementing aerial classes with weekly ballet, acro, or strength-focused training. This supports core strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall physical literacy, helping students excel in aerial performance.

Students will have opportunities to showcase their skills in studio showcases, productions, and choreographed routines. These performances allow dancers to demonstrate their progress, creativity, and artistry in a supportive and inspiring environment.

Safety is our top priority. All aerial work is supervised by certified instructors, with safety mats in place for added protection. Students progress at a pace suited to their abilities, with exercises adapted to individual readiness.

  • Weight limit: 120 kg due to equipment loading limits

  • Disclaimer: All participants (or guardians) must sign a safety waiver due to the inherent risks of aerial activity
